What an amazing day we enjoyed this past Sunday as we celebrated LifeLink! The worship band, the food, the fellowship: it was all wonderful. You blessed The River as much as The River blessed us. They were touched by your participation in the worship and the exuberant spirit you all projected. And your generosity demonstrated in the love offering you gave is a true marker of your spirit.
Ron Davis, the band’s leader, sent me this by text Sunday afternoon: “Thank you Steve for inviting us today for the 6-year birthday worship celebration. We were all blessed! And thank you so much for the love offering. You lead a generous church!” Thank you, LifeLink!
This Friday, October 10th, is the date for our next YouthLink gathering. If you are a teen, you are invited to come enjoy food, games, and worship. 6:00-8:00pm.
The ladies of LifeLink are gathering for a potluck lunch on Saturday, October 18th, at 11:30, in the multi-purpose room. Come enjoy amazing food and even better fellowship with your sisters in Christ! Sign-up in the lobby.
Our Fall Harvest Festival is coming up just two weeks from this Saturday, October 25th, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. It is not too late to help. We can use people to decorate their trunks for our Trunks with Treats, help serve food in the food court, or help out with games and activities. In addition, we can also use all the candy you can donate. Come help us love our community into a life of faith in Christ! Sign-up sheets located in the lobby.
On Sunday, October 19th, we are celebrating new life in Christ with a baptismal service. Four teenagers will be publicly professing their faith in Christ. Are you wanting to do the same? Give me a call (480-888-5991) and let’s talk.
Saturday, November 1st, is the date of our annual Capture the Vision dinner. A three-course dinner will be served for everyone 5th grade and older. Children 4th grade and younger will enjoy pizza and an age-appropriate movie with paid supervision. Following dinner, we will enjoy some worship, an overview of this past year, and a clear vision for the coming year. $4.00/person, maximum $12/family.
As we continue to grow, parking becomes more challenging. May I encourage you to join me in parking on the grass? Thank you! I also invite you to join me for prayer in the lobby at 9:30am this Sunday morning. At 10:00am we worship in song and then dive into Genesis 49. The title? “When we Stand Before Him.”
